This tradgedy today has prompted my publisher to pull together all WAMM writers for a small gesture to be extended to the families of those affected by this. Please read her words below and join in with our writers community to offer what little comfort we have to offer. LIKE the SANDY HOOK ANGELS facebook page, give suggestions for ways, we as writers can come together to help ease the pain of these senseless losses.
Mary Cote:
Fellow writers, today has been incredibly hard for most of us, our hearts aching, our heads spinning. I have no idea how those families go on, but perhaps we can help? A collection of shorts and poems for the families, for the people involved, perhaps for the first responders ... there will be no one untouched there. Maybe we could create our own chicken soup for them, for us... perhaps use the collection to raise money for something for the school or the community? These people need to know that they aren't alone, that there is hope, that humanity does still exist. Maybe putting some hope on a piece of paper will help each of us through this, and will help those who have had their lives shattered today. Please share this with other writers if you think it might be helpful. Whatever medium you deal with -- prose, poetry, lyrics, graphics -- please feel free to send them in. http://www.writersamuseme.com/sandyhookangels.htm
Nothing could take away the pain these families are feeling from today's events. Grab your children today and tell them how much you love them, then do your part with us in an effort to let Newtown, CT. know, they are not alone. This author, this publisher, this writer's group, this family, this country cares for them. In a time like this, we all need to come together if only to express our feelings, our sorrow, our blessings. PLEASE, join us in this effort!
Thanks bunches
Honey
